Axiance Partners with Local Authorities and Retailers to Help Families in Need
April 29, 2021 – Limassol, Cyprus – The forthcoming online trading brand Axiance steps up in the spirit of Easter to help families and school children in Cyprus.
The “Easter Treats” initiative provided supermarket coupons and electronics shop gift cards to help underprivileged schoolchildren and over 700 families.
In collaboration with the Limassol local authorities and the Cyprus Red Cross Society, the ICC Group brand Axiance donated to each selected family in need a €50 coupon that can be redeemable in any Alphamega supermarket for any products except tobacco and alcohol. The eligible families were selected by the Cyprus Red Cross Society and the assigned government authority to ensure full transparency of the initiative.
With the goal to help local communities and in the spirit of Easter, Axiance also provided Electroline gift cards of 50 euros of value to 100 children in need.
Remote schooling has shed light on many challenges families are facing, the biggest one being additional budgets to cover the technological needs of schoolchildren stuck at home.
Panikos Teklos, ICC Group CEO: “We have been in tune with the sudden pandemic-related changes in society and realised how difficult it has become for families in need to cope with budgeting and remote schooling. By chipping in, 700 families will enjoy more grocery shopping and underprivileged schoolchildren will be able to afford basic electronic accessories such as usb keys or headsets that could easily skyrocket the family budget.
These targeted initiatives for small yet sensible improvements were made possible by the commendable cooperation of Alphamega supermarkets and the Cyprus Red Cross Society, for which we could not be more grateful. We dearly hope that the selected families will find solace in the help provided to them.”
Limassol mayor Nicos Nicolaides applauded the initiative and recognises great proactiveness from private sector leadership in troubled times: “Private and public sector joining hands in such challenging times is always a great achievement. We always welcome such initiatives from corporate leaders and direct contribution with the eligible families that we helped identify.”
The Cyprus Red Cross Society of Nicosia also welcomed the Easter Treats initiative: “This strikes a chord with our organisation’s raison d’ etre, which is none other than the endeavour to alleviate human suffering, and any contribution makes a difference for families that have endured moral and financial trauma throughout this pandemic.”
